The Fort Worth Eco-Summit ReCap

Howdy Everyone,

Thank you to all of the North Texas residents who chose to spend last Friday with the Coalition addressing and discussing local conservation issues in Fort Worth.  The Fort Worth Eco-Summit was well attended and we experienced a high level of engagement from all of the attendees! Jack Tidwell’s presentation complemented the Eco-Summit goals nicely as he discussed future challenges facing North Texas. Momentum carried over to the afternoon breakout sessions where attendees chose topics of Elected Official Engagement, Conservation Funding, Public Education and Outreach, Conservation Planning for Growth, Habitat Loss, Changing Demographics, Invasive Species, and Water Conservation.

A special thanks goes out to all of the speakers and the staff at Botanical Research Institute of Texas for helping produce such a great event!  Be sure to check out the impressive BRIT Herbarium (free on Saturday’s) if you are in the Fort Worth Area.

Next stop…Houston!!
